Add blockquotes in Calculation field

markdown6.2

You might not know what are blockquotes, but I am sure you are using them all the time. They are the symbols put by your email service for email replies: >

Blockquote Markdown is supported in Podio. Let’s suppose we have the following text:

I am saying hi.

With kind regards,

John

> Dear John

> Say hi

> With kind regards,

> Jack

Let’s put it in just one line, it will be: “I am saying hi.\nWith kind regards,\nJohn\n>Dear John\n>Say hi\n>With kind regards,\n>Jack”

We are almost done. Just copy paste the following code to a Calculation field:

@Text ? “I am saying hi.\nWith kind regards,\nJohn\n>Dear John\n>Say hi\n>With kind regards,\n>Jack” : “”

And replace the @Text with any text field of your app. We just include a redundant @Text, in order to make calc field work.

You can also use blockquotes for each line separately. In order to do that you need to use a double newline character “\n\n” in each final blockquote line. Just copy paste the following code to a Calculation field:

@Text ? “> Dear John\n> Say hi\n\nThis is stupid\n> With kind regards,\n\nWho is it?\n> Jack\n\nI was sure” : “”
